so I am now officially gangster trained at GMR

themetaphorgirl:

oh my god. I have not breathed in days.

I trained on Saturday morning and passed my assessment that afternoon. Then on Sunday and today I got up to go to work for my tour guide shift, only to get phone calls telling me I was pulled to gangster. This means full costume change, different makeup, wearing contacts, the whole shebang. (I don’t like doing gangster with glasses because OH MY GOD THE SMOKE IN ANUBIS I cannot see a thing.)

And then being in gangster means doing a bunch of shows in a row; I’ve been doing between 5-7. Which doesn’t sound like much, because I’m only on the vehicle for 8 minutes. But that means performing the hijacking scene, running up and down stairs in heels while shooting a gun, jumping on the vehicle and driving/performing through western and Alien and Raiders, doing the Anubis scene which requires running up more stairs, and then immediately unloading/reloading my gun and DOING IT ALL OVER AGAIN. For like SEVEN TIMES IN A ROW.

Like it’s so much fun, but also I’ve been falling asleep at 8pm every night. I have muscles that I didn’t know existed that hate me right now. My right arm (and only my right arm) is going to get super buff from hoisting my firearm and cocking the hammer.

Also heels. Running up and down stairs in heels. While wearing a wool costume that doesn’t breathe.

I kind of want to get pulled again tomorrow just because gangster really is that fun, but I also want to stay in tour guide because it really is that exhausting.

and on a related note, I’ve been collecting nicknames. So far I’m:

Mugsi Toccata

alias Babyhands O’Brien

alias Tater Tits McGee

alias Dooneese DeNiro

Caitlin for the name thing? :)

oh–you–pretty–things:

Caitlin reminds me of a little girl, which I know you probably don’t want to hear because who wants to hear that? But it does. Like, I imagine a Caitlin in a frilly princess dress demanding candy of her father and having honey blonde curls with little pink bows.

Send me your name!

#i’m sorry#i don’t know why#but she’s a pretty princess in my brain#being a princess is okay#right?

I am like 1000000% okay with being a princess!! I mean, I work at Disney. I spend most of my off days in a tiara. I also look like I’m ten.

(although I do try to be the nonspoiled variety of princess.)

(also I’ve hated my name since I knew what it was, so don’t feel bad. I’ve tried going by various nicknames- lately I’ve been considering Elizabeth, which is my middle name- but NOTHING SEEMS TO STICK.)

Who has two thumbs (one of which is real sore), a fancy drink, a new How to Train Your Dragon shirt, and successfully learned the care and keeping of weaponry today? This little lady!! So ready for gangster training this Saturday. #thelittlestmugsi (at Chuy’s)
